Begun in Saint-Henri in the summer of 2007 with the help of a bicycle-drawn trailer and the neighbouring Éco-Quartier, Compost Montreal was an instant success among environmentally-conscious residents. Since then, we have grown steadily to include not only over 1000 residential members, but also many cafés, restaurants, hotels, offices and universities. We have also begun to work with boroughs in an effort to make city-sponsored collection available to residents.
Our team has grown to 10 full and part-time workers and collection has long since been performed by truck. Commercial and residential service are now available in many areas of the Island of Montreal.
